- the dog poop pick up rule: we never took much notice (not being dog owners); we are now militant supporters as many of the parks and sidewalks here are land mine zones
- napkins: they claim these small, waxy triangles are sufficient to clean the hands? We thinks not.
- graffiti: it’s everywhere (even in the Melrose neighborhoods), probably comparable to NY or LA but somehow it stands out more because I can’t read it, or maybe I’m just paying attention now?

La Cuenta, Por Favor
I am no restauranteuse, nor do I claim to have enjoyed my waitressing past, but the number one American rule is turnover... get those tables moving! We have discovered the antithesis, in which, Argentinian waiters blatantly try not to produce the bill (la cuenta)... averted eyes, focus on menial tasks (doing dishes, arranging silverware), and pretending to not understand our perfect Spanish elocution, all in the disguise of a laid back attitude. A few more thoughts for you to ponder from your safe American office buildings, because clearly you are stealthily reading this blog while pretending to work:
